[年輕的米拉、年輕的凱里爾]

在山裡，1943

她呀！米拉呀！當他們倆躺下來，
當攸長的凝視朝向深邃的眼神
企圖避開那雙眼睛的挑戰
一眼以其銳利、一眼以其真誠

調笑間以牙齒擾動著
凱里爾的嘴唇；並問：「你會、你會
永遠愛我嗎？對你而言我永遠美麗嗎？」
米拉按摩著凱里爾、摸索著他的胸膛
然後她頓時知曉，可以言喻
並確切地指出何處
棲息著靈魂、吐納著生命
是靈魂-生命相互交替的孔竅。她越靠越近

與凱里爾越來越一條心；
頓時躊躇全消、頓時疑慮全消
米拉與凱里爾飛快地活著，
在距死亡不到一步之處追求高潮。

[Mirat Muda, Chairil Muda]

Dipengunungan 1943.

Dialah, Miratlah, ketika mereka rebah,
menatap lama kedalam pandangnja
tjoba memisah matanja menantang
jang satu tadjam dan djudjur jang sebelah.

Ketawa diadukannja giginja pada
mulut Chairil; dan bertanja: “Adakah, adakah
kau selalu mesra dan aku bagimu indah?”
Mirat raba urut Chairil, raba dada
Dan tahulah dia kini, bias katakan
dan tundjukkan degan pasti dimana
menghidup djiwa, menghembus njawa
Liang djiwa-njawa saling berganti. Dia rapatkan

Dirinja pada Chairil makin sehati;
hilang setjepuh segan, hilang setjepuh tjemas
Hiduplah Mirat dan Chairil dengan deras,
menuntut tinggi tidak setapak berdjarak dengan mati.

In the mountains, 1943.

Here you are, Mirat, now they're lying still,
He's staring quietly at that look of yours,
Trying to tell the difference between
One defiant eye and the simple one alongside it.

She rubs her teeth on
Chairil's lips, and asks: “Will you always
Always love me, find me beautiful forever?”
Mirat caresses chairil, strokes his chest
And now she knows, she can explain it
And she can point to just precisely where
The soul is located, where the center of life breathes.
Soul and life, life and soul, take turns in that passageway. She's close, closer,
She and Chairil join, are one;
No more modesty, no more worrying.
Mirat and Chairil live fast, very fast,
Trying as hard as they can not to be separated in this death.
