警告

倘若統治者演講時

人民離去

我們得要當心

或許他們已經絕望

倘若人民躲起來

竊竊私語

討論他們自身的煩惱

統治者必須警惕並傾聽

倘若人民已不敢抱怨

意味著情勢已壞

而當統治者說的話

都不容議論時

真理必已遭威脅

要是建議未經衡量就被拒斥

被消音、批判無須理由就被禁止

被指控顛覆與擾亂安定

那此時只剩一句話：反抗！

梭羅，1986

* 這是Wiji Thukul比較早期的一首抗議蘇哈托政權的詩，這首詩的最後一行成為1990年代印尼群眾示威抗議時常用的標語。

** Wiji Thukul（本名Wiji Widodo），印尼詩人、社會運動家，1963年生於中爪哇梭羅（Solo）的一個貧窮家庭，父親是三輪車伕。Wiji少年輟學，靠打短工、在家幫妻子裁縫維生，但盡可能蒐集書籍自學，在1980年代開始寫詩投稿，在地方性的報刊雜誌上發表，道出蘇哈托軍事獨裁政權下印尼底層民眾的悲苦，後開始組織群眾運動，1995年於一場勞工抗議活動中遭軍警的槍托打瞎右眼。1996年Wiji加入對抗蘇哈托政權的人民民主黨（Partai Rakyat Demokratik，PRD），並組織了藝文團體「人民藝術工作網絡」（Jaringan Kerja Kesenian Rakyat, JAKER），參與了1996年7月27日雅加達爆發的反蘇哈托暴動（史稱「黑色星期六」），其後為躲避軍警追捕，Wiji逃出雅加達四處藏匿，其間有傳遞出詩稿，亦有短暫回家探親，但在1998年初再度前往雅加達時失蹤，至今下落不明。

kita harus hati-hati

barangkali mereka putus asa

kalau rakyat sembunyi

dan berbisik-bisik

ketika membicarakan masalahnya sendiri

penguasa harus waspada dan belajar mendengar

bila rakyat tidak berani mengeluh

itu artinya sudah gawat

dan bila omongan penguasa

tidak boleh dibantah

kebenaran pasti terancam

apabila usul ditolak tanpa ditimbang

suara dibungkam kritik dilarang tanpa alasan

dituduh subversif dan mengganggu keamanan

maka hanya ada satu kata: lawan!

when the government is having speech

the government should have to be alert and learn to listen

if the people don’t dare to complain

the situation is endangered

can’t be argued

truth must be threatened

if the advice is refused with no consideration

the voice is silenced, criticism forbidden with no argument

accused of subversive and disturbing security

then there is only one word; resist!
