Waktu djalan. Aku tidak tahu apa nasib waktu?
Pemuda-pemuda jang lintjah jang tua-tua keras, bermata tadjam,
Mimpinja kemerdekaan bintang-bintangnja kepastian
ada disisiku selama mendjaga daerah jang mati ini
Aku suka pada mereka jang berani hidup
Aku suka pada mereka jang masuk menemu malam
Malam jang berwangi mimpi, terlutjut debu......
Waktu djalan. Aku tidak tahu apa nasib waktu!

Time goes on. I don't know where it's going, or why, or when.
Active young men, strong old men, their eyes sharp,
Dreaming of a freedom that's as sure as the stars,
Are at my side as long as you keep watch, here in this no-man's land.
I like people who dare to live
I like people who try to discover the night
The night that's fragrant with dreams, rising out of the dust......
Time goes on. I don't know where it's going. Or why. Or when!
