生與死都留在妳臉上嬉戲。

妳的眼凝視著——就在不久前！——
妳不慌不忙，妳接觸男人，妳甜言蜜語，
如今傍晚焦黃，留下灰燼……
在妳苗條的身體上仍舊是男追女逐。

mendjadi gelap
turut tenggelam sama sekali
djuga jang mengendap,
dimukamu tinggal bermain Hidup dan Mati.

Matamu menentang—sebentar dulu!—
Kau tidak gamang, hidup kau sintuh, kau tjumbu,
sekarang sendja gosong, tinggal abu……
Dalam tubuhmu ramping masih bekedjaran Perempuan dan Laki.

Female, if after a while
It darkens to the west,
Sinks down
To the last dregs,
Life and Death still play across your face.

Your eyes say: to hell with you—just a minute!—
You’re not afraid, you finger life, you flatter, you tease it,
Now that the twilight has burned itself to ashes……
In your slender body, Man and Woman still chase each other, around and around.
